Lets talk Curb Appeal!
In Real Estate, First impressions matter! When it comes to selling your home, sellers only really get one good chance at making a first impression. Your home needs to look attractive from the curb, BUT to bring the in buyers in this day and age, it needs to look AMAZING on the internet! This is why curb appeal is so vital.
When you think of curb appeal you might think about just keeping your
lawn mowed, keeping a clean yard, landscaping a little and who knows what else.
These are all great things to start off with but here are some other things
that you can do to go the extra mile for the exterior of your house!
1. Dress up the front door: Sometimes the front door can be the focal point of the home!
2. Create symmetry when decorating the outside of your home. It will be easier on the eyes!
3. Install outdoor lighting. This will make your home attractive at night as well. (Buyers don’t just look during the day time!)
4. Re-stain older looking wood to keep the home looking fresh.
5. Same goes for old metal hardware! Spruce it up and replace it something new and modern.
6. Outdoor furniture can help the home look inviting or give off a comforting and relaxing area to the buyers.
My most favorite thing about curb appeal is gardening. Gardening can make your home look and feel more welcoming, give it a fresh clean look and can even keep your home looking modern if landscaped correctly. Here are some tips that can help you out when thinking about gardening and sprucing up the outside of your home!
1. PLANT FLOWERS! This one is the most important for summer curb appeal
2. Keep a clean yard. This is a given.
3. Window boxes and planter boxes can add character and charm to the aesthetic of your home and can be a fun DIY project.
4. Hanging flower pots can be a great way to add flowers to the outside of your house if you don’t have the space or yard area to plant flowers.
5. Modern and sleek looking flower pots can be super eye catching when you have complimenting flowers planted in them.
6.YARD ART! This is one of my absolute favorite things to add to my garden area. It compliments the flowers and flower pots you have! It also can be fun if you like DIY projects because there are so many little projects that can be done quick and cheap, but still enhance the beauty of your garden!
Curb appeal is so important to give your home the extra push it needs to stand out from the other homes in your market. Small tips and tricks like these can be all the difference between a listed home and a sold one!
